Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven was Love And Rockets darkly psychedelic debut album, and it was released by Beggars Banquet in 1985 and marked the beginning of a career that would span an impressive 14 years and 7 albums. This special release features a high definition 96 kHz / 24 bit surround mix created by Neil Wilkes from the analogue multi-tracks and also includes three additional bonus tracks from the original session including the single “Ball Of Confusion” and a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Lucifer Sam”.

The original stereo masters, as used on the CD and vinyl, were digitally mixed on to F1 masters in 1985 at 44.1 kHz / 16 bit, so no high resolution analogue copies were created. For the Blu-ray release, Neil Wilkes has created a new HD stereo mix. The release has been approved by original producer John A. Rivers.

Love And Rockets formed in 1985, almost 2 years after the demise of cult goth pioneers Bauhaus. The band re-united Daniel Ash (vocals and guitar), David J (vocals and bass) and Kevin Haskins (drums). Back in the mid-Eighties, when the US alternative scene was just that, Love And Rockets were one of the leading lights.
Love and Rockets provided a clean slate and an opportunity to plumb the depths of imagination and influences. Their first single, a radical reworking of The Temptations classic “Ball Of Confusion”, was a huge hit in underground dance clubs on both sides of the Atlantic. The release of their acclaimed debut album followed. Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven was an unashamedly psychedelic adventure, far removed from the dark soundscapes of Bauhaus. Yet they had to fight hard to avoid being branded ‘goth’, citing Syd Barrett, Marc Bolan and the Beatles as primary influences.

This release is on a Pure Audio Blu-ray disc, meaning it can be played on a Blu-ray player like a CD, without the need for a navigational screen (though this is included). The audio streams are allocated to the color buttons on the remote control.

Ned Ragget wrote about it’s recent 30th anniversary for The Quietus. “it’s its own thing, ruined elegance, sculpted beauty, sometimes sharp without being angry, often inspiring without being sappy, able to capture even slow dull moments in an attractive fashion. Every time I hear it, I’m glad it exists.”

Though the years have deadened its impact somewhat, there is still a visceral thrill to be drawn from replaying the first Love and Rockets album, a sense of the first step taken towards a brave new world, and a miasmic whirl of psychedelic intent that masks intents even darker than the preceding Bauhaus ever envisioned. Recorded and released in 1985, riding to club acclaim on the back of the “Ball of Confusion” remake, and aligning its makers with a destiny and fame that no one could ever have predicted, Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven ranks among the most deceptive debut albums of the 1980s. The keys to the album remain the same, of course — the churning guitar soup of “The Dog-End of a Day Gone By,” the sibilant glam sexuality of the title track, the chilling nursery rhyme pendulum of “The Game.” But the opiate atmosphere that chokes the wide open spaces leavened within every song only thickens by the time you hit the closing acoustics of “Saudade,” and Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven emerges as profound an experience as any of the lauded trips of the original psychedelic era. It rounds out the experience with dramatic flair, pinpointing the sheer creativity that was sparking around Love and Rockets at the dawn of their decade-long career — and reminding you that that decade was over all too quickly. –AllMusic Review by Dave Thompson

Sigmund Groven and Iver Kleive have collaborated for more than 30 years and have built a repertoire consisting mainly of baroque pieces and Norwegian music, most of which they have composed and arranged themselves. Even though they have chosen very different instruments, and are also quite different personalities in many ways, they have a fundamental musical rapport and understanding and also have many other things in common. They both originate from musical families; born and raised in Telemark, a region of Norway rich in folk-music, they have always had an open mind and taken keen interest in various contemporary and popular musical styles and idioms. They left Norway to study, and their mentors were the best possible role models: In Munich Iver came under the guidance of organist Franz Lehrndorfer and legendary choirmaster, conductor, and organist Karl Richter, whereas Sigmund had the great fortune to study in England with his boyhood idol, the equally legendary Tommy Reilly, one of the great pioneers of serious harmonica-playing.

Groven/Kleive: Harmorgan Blu-ray, Audio Quality

As usual, 2L has provided reference quality Blu-ray audio on this release. The duo was recorded at Uranienborg Church in September 2010 by 2L’s Morten Lindberg. The recording was made with DPR microphones, Millennia Media amplifiers and SPHYNX2 converters, all connected to a PYRAMIX workstation. Utilizing DXD, a professional audio format which allows for an astounding 352.8 kHz sampling rate, the basic files were then downmixed for Blu-ray audio (as well as the accompanying SACD) to 24bit/192kHz tracks in both a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and LPCM 2.0 format. This is one 2L recording where frankly there isn’t a huge difference between the surround and the stereo tracks. As clever as Kleive undeniably is with utilizing different stops on his mammoth organ, there is only so much timbral differentiation that can be achieved, and the mass of sound from that organ can only be diffused so far no matter what surround techniques are employed. The harmonica of course is so tightly focused that though 2L has indeed mixed Groven with a fair amount of spaciousness, the main sound from the instrument is resolutely anchored forward. With the onslaught of sound from the organ, hall ambience is sometimes all but swallowed up with the billowing waves emanating from that massive instrument. This actually works well with the slathered layers that Kleive likes to employ, but it can rob the final product of a bit of clarity now and then. Fidelity here is excellent, however, and dynamic range is truly impressive. All frequency ranges are handled effortlessly, from the organ’s lowest pedal points to the highest reaches of the harmonica’s plaintive wails.

Patricia Barber’s Modern Cool hit like a thunderbolt when first released back in 1998. Featuring the same band as on Cafe Blue with the addition of trumpet star Dave Douglas, the 12-song set is highlighted by Barber originals like “Touch of Trash,” “Company,” and “Winter,” to go along with her version of The Doors “Light My Fire” and her setting of an E.E. Cummings poem.

Among the many accolades received, DownBeat Magazine gave the album a coveted “5 Stars” review calling it “sonically, one of the best recordings ever made by a jazz singer with a small acoustic ensemble.” The response, and subsequent worldwide touring, led to Barber’s signing to Blue Note Records one year later and the New York Times proclaiming: “Barber’s art is the kind of art we need to pay attention to.”

Now, Premonition presents a high resolution, dual layer Blu Ray of this miraculous album. Included are a 5.1 Surround remix (24/96 kHz) by original engineer Jim Anderson and the original 2 track stereo masters in 24/192 kHZ for the first time on disc. 13 is the 19th studio album by British rock band Black Sabbath. The album was released on 10 June 2013 in Europe and 11 June 2013 in North America, via Vertigo Records and Republic Records in the US, and via Vertigo Records worldwide. It is the first studio album released by Black Sabbath since Forbidden (1995), and their first studio recording with original singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler since the live album Reunion (1998), which contained two new studio tracks. It is also the first studio album with Osbourne since Never Say Die! (1978), and with Butler since Cross Purposes (1994). This is also the first Black Sabbath studio album since Never Say Die! not to feature longtime keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, and the first since The Eternal Idol (1987) on Vertigo (outside the US and Canada).
Black Sabbath’s original line-up first began work on a new studio album in 2001 with producer Rick Rubin. The album’s development was delayed because Osbourne was in the middle of finishing his eighth solo album Down to Earth, and the rest of the band members eventually went on to pursue other projects, including GZR and Heaven & Hell. When Black Sabbath announced the end of their hiatus on 11 November 2011, the band announced that they would restart work on a new album with Rubin. In addition to original members Osbourne, Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi, they were joined at the recording sessions by drummer Brad Wilk, of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, following original drummer Bill Ward’s decision to not participate in the reunion, due to a “contractual dispute”.

There’s a lot of pressure involved with being the rulers of the underworld, and nobody knows it better than Black Sabbath in 2013. Inarguable legends and at least partially responsible for creating heavy metal as we know it with their classic ’70s material, Sabbath have spawned generations of followers and become one of the final words of the genre. There have been countless reunions and mutations of the band following vocalist Ozzy Osbourne’s first dismissal in 1978, and even 13 doesn’t quite deliver on fans’ decades-long desires to see all four original members back together. Original drummer Bill Ward sits the record out due to disputes over the recording contract, with Audioslave/Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk providing beats in his stead. Despite this considerable absence, 13 comes closest to recapturing the desperate feel, plodding grooves, and unparalleled metal magic of those first classic Sabbath records than anything the members of the band have done since, in any permutation or combination. Kicking off with two sludgy tracks, each over eight-minutes long, the Rick Rubin-produced 13 takes a few moments to get its legs. Once warmed up, however, each element falls somewhere between studied re-creation of the past and logical progression, be it Tony Iommi’s spooky guitar tone, Ozzy’s nasal howl, or the panic attack dynamics and sense of nuclear dread that made the moods of Sabotage and Vol. 4 so thick. Sharp tempo changes and caustic drop-tuned blues metal riffs make up tracks like “God Is Dead?” and the doomy “Age of Reason.” Many of the album’s eight tracks stretch past the seven-minute mark, full of heavy compositional shifting. The mellower acoustic track “Zeitgeist” rewrites the spacy “Planet Caravan” from second album Paranoid, revisiting the same cosmic motif of that song, complete with Iommi’s most Django Reinhardt-influenced soloing. The lyrics, all penned by bassist Geezer Butler, are focused on internal religious and mental conflicts, with final track “Dear Father” tackling living with memories of abuse. The album is heavier, more precise, and more interesting than the past several decades of output from the bandmembers would suggest. Without fully replicating the energy of their untouchable first six records, Sabbath have risen to the unique challenge of not becoming self-caricatures, turning in something new while still reactivating the strengths of their younger days. The backwards-looking tendencies of 13 are something the band is fully aware of, as signified by the reappearance of rain and church bells sound effects on the last track, the same sounds that opened their first album in 1970. The influence of early Sabbath has become so omnipresent that it’s come back to influence its very creators four decades later, but the results are unexpectedly brilliant, apocalyptic, and essential for any die-hard metal fan. –Fred Thomas

The Who’s defining, breakthrough concept album – a full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind boy that launched the band to international superstardom, written almost entirely by Pete Townshend is now available as a new LIMITED EDITION Super Deluxe version that that includes 4 audio discs, an 80 page hardback book and a poster.
The audio features the original album re-mastered along with a wealth of previously unheard material in the form of 20 demos from Pete Townshend’s archive and also a full live performance of Tommy from 1969 taken from tapes that infamously Townshend asked the band’s sound engineer to burn. 18 of the previously unheard and thought to be long lost live tracks are taken from a live show at the Capital Theatre, Ottowa, Canada on October the 15th 1969. Three others, ‘I’m Free,’ ‘Tommy’s Holiday Camp,’ and ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ were lost due to tape reels being changed during the show so are taken from later shows of the same era. As discussed at length in Pete Townshend’s autobiography the tapes were all supposed to be destroyed but were kept by long time Who sound man Bob Pridden despite Pete’s instructions.
The Super Deluxe box also features a 5.1 mix featuring the complete album remixed in surround sound on new Hi Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-ray format.
The hardback 80-page full-colour book features rare period photos, memorabilia, a 20,000-word essay by legendary Who aficionado Richard Barnes and a rare facsimile Tommy poster housed in a hard-back deluxe slip-case.

New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) is the fifth studio album by Simple Minds and was a turning point for the band as they gained critical and commercial success in the UK and Europe. The record generated a handful of singles: “Promised You a Miracle” (released in April 1982), “Glittering Prize” (August 1982) and “Someone Somewhere in Summertime” (November 1982). The title track saw a limited release in Italy, when the band visited the country during their tour in March 1983. In addition, the jazz keyboardist Herbie Hancock performed a synthesizer solo on the track “Hunter and the Hunted.”

Bon Jovi’s eponymous debut album was released in 1984, and “Runaway” became a Top 40 hit. Following its success, Tony Bongiovi sued the band, claiming he developed their successful sound; the group settled out of court. The following year, 7800° Fahrenheit was released and went gold. Despite the band’s respectable success, Bon Jovi weren’t becoming the superstars they had hoped, and they changed their approach for their next album, Slippery When Wet.
Hiring professional songwriter Desmond Child as a collaborator, the group wrote 30 songs and auditioned them for local New Jersey and New York teenagers, basing the album’s running order on their opinions. After ditching the original cover of a busty woman in a wet T-shirt for the title traced in water on a garbage bag, Slippery When Wet was released in 1986.
Supported by several videos that showcased the photogenic Jon, the album eventually sold nine million copies in the U.S. alone, helping usher in the era of pop-metal. Two songs, “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer,” reached No. 1, while “Wanted Dead or Alive” reached the Top Ten, and Bon Jovi were established as worldwide superstars once and for all.

Slippery When Wet wasn’t just a breakthrough album for Bon Jovi; it was a breakthrough for hair metal in general, marking the point where the genre officially entered the mainstream. Released in 1986, it presented a streamlined combination of pop, hard rock, and metal that appealed to everyone — especially girls, whom traditional heavy metal often ignored. Slippery When Wet was more indebted to pop than metal, though, and the band made no attempt to hide its commercial ambition, even hiring an outside songwriter to co-write two of the album’s biggest singles. The trick paid off as Slippery When Wet became the best-selling album of 1987, beating out contenders like Appetite for Destruction, The Joshua Tree, and Michael Jackson’s Bad.
Part of the album’s success could be attributed to Desmond Child, a behind-the-scenes songwriter who went on to write hits for Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, and Ricky Martin. With Child’s help, Bon Jovi penned a pair of songs that would eventually define their career — “Living on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name” — two teenage anthems that mixed Springsteen’s blue-collar narratives with straightforward, guitar-driven hooks. The band’s characters may have been down on their luck — they worked dead-end jobs, pined for dangerous women, and occasionally rode steel horses — but Bon Jovi never presented a problem that couldn’t be cured by a good chorus, every one of which seemed to celebrate a glass-half-full mentality. Elsewhere, the group turned to nostalgia, using songs like “Never Say Goodbye” and “Wild in the Streets” to re-create (or fabricate) an untamed, sex-filled youth that undoubtedly appealed to the band’s teen audience. Bon Jovi wasn’t nearly as hard-edged as Mötley Crüe or technically proficient as Van Halen, but the guys smartly played to their strengths, shunning the extremes for an accessible, middle-of-the-road approach that wound up appealing to more fans than most of their peers. “It’s alright if you have a good time,” Jon Bon Jovi sang on Slippery When Wet’s first track, “Let It Rock,” and those words essentially served as a mantra for the entire hair metal genre, whose carefree, party-heavy attitude became the soundtrack for the rest of the ‘80s. –Andrew Leahey

Jienat’s album Mira heads down a different road than travelled by artists like Wimme or Mari Boine. The musician who is the force behind Jienat, Andreas Fliflet, has gone to great lengths to ensure that the recording of the musicians is as close to a live, immersive experience as possible: the CD comes packaged with a regular SACD, and a Blu-Ray, Hi-Definition version. Fliflet states in the liner notes that this is the first non-classical album to be recorded in 5.1 surround sound; the musicians were captured with multiple microphones to convey the sense of space, at very different locations, in which the music was created. The energy of each moment is thus conveyed in crystal-clear fashion.

The bulk of this album is acoustic: primarily drumming/percussion, and of course the human voice. Mira, in Spanish, means look – which I thought was the theme of the album, and in fact, there is quite a bit of Latin American influence that seems to run through the recording. The first two tracks, “Sissel” and “Andreas/Andre” both struck me as having the cross-rhythms that one would associate with Latin music. “Gille” provides really expansive percussive force, recorded in the street, from the Brazilian drum ensemble Swing do Pelo. There are also some nice touches with the inclusion of some found environmental sounds on some of the pieces here. But my expectation that Mira meant ‘look’ is something of a canard, since the track “Mira” is named after a female dog. For four minutes Fliflet joiks, sounding like a dog over live percussion – enough time to make me glad that I wasn not experiencing that track in virtual, mind-melting surround sound.

On the whole, Mira puts the focus squarely on pared down, wholly organic and human sounds. Jienat have created a playful release, and each tune is varied enough so that it feels a bit like experimental pop-joik: Mira may be the White Album of the genre!

Anathema have spent the vast majority of their career making music that defies description. Formed in the mid 90s, they have risen to become one of the UK’s most cherished and critically acclaimed rock bands. Led by brothers Daniel and Vincent Cavanagh, Anathema recorded ‘The Optimist’ in winter 2016 at Attica Studio in Donegal and Castle of Doom Studios in Glasgow with producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Super Furry Animals) at the helm. Doogan’s influence is instantly tangible; for the first time in years Anathema recorded as a live band for an album, capturing an energy normally only present on stage.

Going back to an earlier album for inspiration isn’t usually a winning strategy, but Anathema are no ordinary band. The muse for The Optimist is the unaccounted-for protagonist from 2001’s A Fine Day to Exit. The final sounds on that record were waves lapping on a shoreline. They introduce opener “32.63N 117.14W.” These are the coordinates for Silver Strand Beach in San Diego, the last known whereabouts of that character. A radio gets tuned, and of course, Anathema is playing on it. Frenetic electronic beats enter to introduce “Leaving It Behind,” and it erupts, canceling all musical similarities to the earlier album. Fans may remember that in 2001, the band were indeed leaving behind their identity as a ferocious, doomy Liverpudlian metal band to enter a period of moody introspection. It would last until 2010’s We’re Here Because We’re Here and expand from there, widening a scope that would include more lush textures and atmospheres and result in some of their finest songs.

Here Anathema have brought the experiments of the last seven years to a culmination of sorts. Vincent and Daniel Cavanagh, drummer John Douglas, vocalist Lee Douglas, bassist Jamie Cavanagh, drummer/keyboardist Daniel Cardoso, and producer Tony Doogan deliver nothing short of grandeur here. The Optimist is aggressive, expansive, and unforgiving. “Leaving It Behind,” with its brittle junglist loops, is answered by sharp guitars and Vincent’s voice as it reaches for the lyrical margins to break free of the past. Two minutes in, the band kicks in, blasting and demanding that freedom. It’s a hell of a kickoff, but the gears shift when Lee Douglas’ lead vocal claims the balladic entry to “Endless Ways” backed by an acoustic piano, strings, and a lilting tempo that borders on pop, but it’s only an intro. Anathema up the ante adding layers of electronics, urgent sweeping guitars, and cymbal and snare crashes as the tune ascends, shedding its frame. Anathema work magic in the longing atmospherics of the title track and the crashing proggy shoegaze of “Springfield”; it’s fleshed out in set highlight “Ghosts” as Douglas sings like a bereft angel surrounded by piano, wispy percussion, and elegant strings. This is all followed by the post-new wave urgency of “Can’t Let Go,” and the spectral electronica of “Wildfires.” Set closer “Back to the Start” brings back the lapping waves, this time with an acoustic guitar. Cavanagh’s delivery is cathartic; he’s answered by driving, squalling lead guitar, waves of synths, a densely harmonic backing chorus, stadium rock drums, and a wall of strings before the mix unravels into more “found” sounds providing an entrance into yet another place. (Sorry, no spoiler.) The Optimist concludes the 2001 story not by ending it, but by opening another chapter altogether. This is Anathema at full throttle, bringing not only their previous musical identities to bear but also projecting possible futures. This set is unified, fully realized, and eloquent, on par with the grandest of musical statements, yet utterly accessible.

With the Commodores he wrote some of the most enduring songs of all-time including “Still,” “Sail On,” “Easy” and the group’s first #1 hit, “Three Times a Lady.” At the dawn of the ’80’s, Kenny Rogers scored a #1 hit with Richie’s “Lady” and Richie had the same results with the Oscar nominated film track “Endless Love,” a duet with Diana Ross.

In 1982, Richie embarked on a solo career with the #1 single, “Truly.” A year later, Richie’s career hit its apex with the phenomenal album, Can’t Slow Down, which sold in excess of 15 million copies worldwide, spawned five chart-topping singles, and became the biggest selling album in the history of Motown Records. Can’t Slow Down’s first single, “All Night Long” became one of Richie’s most memorable hits when, at the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Richie performed a marathon 20-minute version of the song before a television viewing audience estimated at 2.6 billion people worldwide.

For Simon Rattle, Robert Schumann is “the echt Romantic”. And in fact, the exuberance of the period, its passion and its melancholy can be heard with unique intensity in Schumann’s music to this day. For the Berliner Philharmoniker, Schumann’s symphonies have always been part of their core repertoire. The 1953 Wilhelm Furtwängler recording in particular has attained cult status. And so it only stands to reason that the Berliner Philharmoniker should launch their Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings label with a cycle of the four Schumann symphonies.

The symphonies are available as a 2-CD + Blu-ray edition and as a limited vinyl collector’s edition. Both versions include a free voucher for a high resolution download of the four symphonies. The download can also be purchased separately by those who only wish to have the digital files.

The Schumann symphonies have accompanied the orchestra throughout 2013 – in Berlin and on tour in Europe and Asia. The Berlin Tagesspiegel wrote of a “defining moment”, while the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung praised the “truly sensational quality”. Another special feature of this recording from the Philharmonie is the decision to use the early version of the Fourth Symphony from 1841, whose appeal for Simon Rattle lies in its extra “lightness, grace and beauty” compared to the established later version. The presentation of the product, its packaging and special features, go far beyond what standard CDs and LPs offer.

The linen-bound CD/Blu-ray edition includes the Schumann cycle in different formats. In addition to the traditional audio CDs, there is also a Blu-ray Disc which enables music lovers to listen to the recording in audiophile studio quality of 96kHz/24bit or as HD video. Reckless is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock recording artist Bryan Adams. The album was co-produced by Adams and Bob Clearmountain, and it was one of Adams’ most successful solo albums. Released on 5 November 1984 through A&M Records, the album was a huge international hit, selling over 5 million units in the United States alone. It was the first Canadian album to sell more than one million units within Canada. The album peaked at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and reached high positions in the charts worldwide. In total the album has sold more than 12 million copies worldwide.
Six singles were released from the album: “Run to You”, “Somebody”, “Heaven”, “Summer of ’69”, “One Night Love Affair”, and “It’s Only Love”. All six singles made the top 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100, a feature that at the time had been accomplished previously only by Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA. The album was ranked No. 49 on Kerrang!s “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time”, and 99th Greatest Rock Album of All Time by Classic rock and was also named the #12 Greatest Canadian Album of All Time by Bob Mersereau in his book The Top 100 Canadian Albums. The album was recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios, Vancouver, Canada. On 12 December 2009 the syndicated radio program In the Studio celebrated the 25th anniversary of the album.
In April 2014, it was announced that a 30th Anniversary edition of the album, featuring previously unreleased material, will be released on 10 November 2014 in both 4- and 2-disc editions. The Reckless 30th Anniversary Tour is also to take place in November 2014, consisting of eleven exclusive arena shows in the United Kingdom.

Continuing his award-winning cycle of works by Felix Mendelssohn, Sir John Eliot Gardiner leads the LSO, his Monteverdi Choir and three talented young actors from the Guildhall in a landmark performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, which was performed as part of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. To mark the celebrations, Gardiner produced a special version of the work featuring some cuts to the original movements that, in his words, “remove all of the music relating to the Mechanicals and thus focus on the world of the fairies and the human lovers”.
Mendelssohn, who adored Shakespeare’s writings, composed his concert overture based on ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in 1827 aged 17, after having read a German translation of the play. The overture was immediately acclaimed as a masterpiece and quickly became a popular favourite throughout Europe. Years later in 1843 he was asked by the King of Prussia to provide a score for an entire production: 14 short works based on themes and moods from the original overture, with a broadly romantic sound although classical in style and structure.
The Pure Audio Blu-ray disc includes bonus footage of the concert performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No 1, alongside high resolution master audio.

La Zizanie is a 2001 album recorded by French pop singer Zazie. It was her fourth studio album and her fifth album overall. It was released on 16 October 2001 and achieved success in francophone countries. It provided five singles (two of them were only released as promotional singles) including two hits: “Rue de la paix” (#11 in France and Belgium) and “Adam & Yves” (#22 in France), and the minor hit “Danse avec les loops” (#53 in France).
Zazie wanted first to entitle the album “La Zazizanie” without mentioning her name on the cover but this idea was finally cancelled because it was not a concept album. The limited edition was presented in an octogonal set box.
The album went straight to number-one in France on 20 October 2001 and totaled ten weeks in the top ten and 55 weeks on the chart (top 200). In Belgium (Wallonia), the album debuted at #4 on 27 October 2001, then climbed to number-one. It remained for 14 weeks in the top ten and 34 weeks in the top 50. In Switzerland, the album was ranked for 15 weeks, including a peak at #28 in its first week of release, on 28 October 2001.
The album was nominated in the category ‘Pop album of the year’ at the 2002 Victoires de la Musique.

Hand. Cannot. Erase. is the fourth solo studio album by British musician Steven Wilson. The album was released on February 27, 2015 through Kscope.
The album was recorded in September 2014 at AIR Studios, London, UK.All band members of the previous album are also featured on the new recording. When discussing the lack of Theo Travis’ input on the record, Steven Wilson described the album to be less “jazzy” compared to the previous album, featuring only a few parts written for flute and saxophones. Wilson also described the album to be more reflective to all of the different material in his back catalogue, featuring electronic music elements and straightforward pop songs alongside long progressive-oriented tracks. Alongside Wilson, the album features Ninet Tayeb on vocals, and the music is heavily inspired by The Dreaming, an album by Kate Bush.

An interim release between Hand. Cannot. Erase. and his next album, Steven Wilson’s 4 ½ comprises 6 tracks with a total running time of 37 minutes.
Four of the songs originated during the sessions for Hand. Cannot. Erase. and one from the recording sessions for The Raven That Refused To Sing. The final track is a new version of Don’t Hate Me – a song recorded by Porcupine Tree in 1998 – based on a live recording made on the recent tour of Europe, with additional recording in the studio. The vocals on this new version are sung as a duet between Steven and Ninet Tayeb.

Adam Holzman, Nick Beggs, Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster, Craig Blundell, Marco Minnemann, Chad Wackerman and Theo Travis also contribute to 4 ½.
Blu-Ray version in an amray case with die cut slipcase and 8 page booklet photographed by Lasse Hoile and designed by Carl Glover. The blu-ray edition includes high res stereo, a 5.1 mix of the album, plus 6 bonus instrumentals and alternative mixes including a 5.1 mix of the 2015 version of Lazarus.
